9/12/2020 New venue for Magic Millions Tasmania

Quercus Park will host the 2021 Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Monday, February 22, Tasbreeders announced yesterday. Quercus Park, Carrick, the home of Agfest, take over from Inveresk Showgrounds in hosting the sale and Tasbreeders will partner with Tasracing and Rural Youth Tasmania to put on the event. The yearling sale, which will begin at 12 noon and takes place the day after a feature raceday in Launceston, boasts a 122-lot catalogue, with 51 sires and the crops of seven first season stallions included. “Tasbreeders is excited to partner with Rural Youth Tasmania and the Quercus Park site,” said Tasbreeders president David Manshanden. “This is a major event for the Tasmanian racing industry and the facilities and infrastructure at Quercus Park allows us to have a sale in 2021. With recent graduates including Mystic Journey, Palentino, The Cleaner and Soul Patch, it’s easy to understand why the sale is statistically the best return on investment yearling sale in Australasia.” On a long-term plan for the venue of future Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sales, Manshanden added: “After the completion of the 2021 sale, Tasbreeders, Tasracing and Magic Millions will then be undertaking a strategic review on the location of a long-term site, which will include Quercus Park as an option.”
